Copper pipe, known for its resistance to corrosion, is often found in residential and commercial applications, though its higher cost can be a consideration. For flexible and lightweight options, corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) is gaining popularity, while polyethylene (PE) pipe is suitable for underground gas service lines due to its corrosion resistance and flexibility. Polybutylene (PB) pipe, once common, is now discontinued due to potential safety issues, and PVC pipe has limited use in gas piping due to its flammability.
