Ohio Epa Leech Lines For Groundwater Protection

Leech lines refer to guidelines established by the Ohio EPA to determine the allowable depth for burials within certain soil conditions to protect groundwater from contamination. These lines are defined in Ohio Code Rule 3745-34-03, which governs the design and construction of subsurface sewage treatment systems and other on-site wastewater disposal systems. The depth of leech lines must be adequate to prevent the discharge of contaminants into groundwater, but also considers factors such as soil type, depth to groundwater, and local topography.
